Coaching

Academic coaching focuses on the improvement of eligible Title I students’ skill acquisition through the provision of individual and small group sessions with qualified service providers.  Academic coaching includes activities that directly, but positively, impact academic performance.  Activities include, but are not limited to, assistance with development of skills, reducing test anxiety, providing cognitive behavioral modification related to classroom learning, developing homework completion strategies, and planning organizing skills.

AAIC incorporates interaction with parents and teachers in addressing students’ reading and mathematics learning problems. AAIC engages in consultation with relevant staff members on learning problems, assessing the abilities of the students, and assisting students in the establishment of educational/career plans and choices.

AAIC assists students with personal and social development and provides referral assistance.  AAIC also engages in collaboration with the Title I team and other staff members to plan effective counseling programs for eligible Title I students.
